Welcome to the HSRO

The Human Subject Research Office (HSRO)provides administrative support to UM’s Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).

The HSRO supports the University IRB process by:

  • Maintaining IRB records on all human research at UM and JHS
  • Maintaining a database for tracking all human research submissions at UM and JHS
  • Serving as a resource on general regulatory information
  • Conducting educational workshops
  • Publishing UM’s Standard Operating Procedures for human research
  • Support for Institutional Review Boards
  • Support comprehensive stakeholder accreditation activities through educational and networking platforms.
  • Provide support and maintain records for Trial Registration and Result Reporting on clinicaltrials.gov.
